　　Some fortune-tellers find out what fate has in store by using astrology4. This involves charting the sun's movements in the sky with the belief that they help predict future events here on Earth. Then there is scrying. You may not be familiar with the word, but if you have ever seen a cheesy5 horror film, you've probably seen it in action. Scrying is when a fortune-teller looks into a crystal ball to see the future. Another common method is taromancy. This involves using special cards, known as tarot cards6. The cards are laid out on a table, and the order in which they fall is said to reveal future events.
　　Fortune-telling is big business in Taiwan but has not gained widespread welcome in other countries. In some American states, calling oneself a fortune-teller is even illegal. Saudi Arabia takes that a few steps further because they ban the practice under punishment of death. I'll bet you did not see that coming.
